Well who would of thought at the age of 48 I would be doing at least three of them five with a new one. Doing what I can to save as many animals as I can, playing the drums, lifting weights and now playing the guitar. It may be to late to be a body builder but I do still workout and involve myself with physical fitness as much as my body allows it.
One of my other favorite rescues was a cat. Now I never really been a cat person but something about this cat stole my heart. I brought lulu home from a friend. She wondered on his porch when his neighbors moved and abandoned her. So my friend called me for help finding her a home. Well I brought lulu home to my house and cared for her until I could find her a home. Lulu is a old cat, between 12 and 15 years old so it was hard to find her a home. I kept her for about 2 weeks and decided to take her to the animal shelter but on the way there she kept meowing at me like she was trying to tell me not to take her. She stole my heart at that point and I turned around to bring her back home and kept her. She has been a joy and will live out the rest of her life right here at the house.
My Animal rescue only runs on donations and I have not been able to really operate it properly because the donations are not consistent. Hopefully they will start to be consistent or come in enough so that when I do rescue animals I can care for them the proper way until I find them a home. Please if you can make a small donation so we can give the animals a voice and I can continue to do my part would be very very appreciative. I would really like to continue to run my rescue efforts.
The journey of playing the drums has also been very very satisfying and has given me a way to help with many issues I may have when it comes to everyday life. I get on my drum set and just go into a different world. I can lose time while practicing and get very emotion because my preference of style and music is contemporary gospel music. I play R&B and old school funk as well but contemporary gospel is the main music I play. Playing the drums has always been a passion but I never got a chance to take lessons growing up or early adulthood because life was always getting in the way. At the age of 48 I could not fight it anymore and just dove right in being self taught and boy what a ride it has been so far. Only 7 months at this point and I have advance at a rapid speed. I also have started to learn how to play the guitar. This is a recent goal that came on because of the drums.
I have two names for my beats. HeavenlyBearBeats are when I do a session of a contemporary gospel set. BigBearDrumBeats is when I do a R&B or funk set
Lastly, it may not be body building but its weight lifting at its best. One thing I'm proud of is being able to still workout despite some health issues. I have to keep moving and trying my best to stay as healthy as I can so the issues do not get worst. When I was a younger man I was very active in sports. I was a healthy young man with muscles and a tremendous amount of energy. Bad choices in life and not taking care of myself is now catching up to me but I am trying to keep moving so I can stay healthy in my older age. Nothing is more important then your health and everyone of us should take it very serious. I know its not an easy thing and ones health can be one of the hardest things in the world to take care of.
